Manseru is where monks, exercised their spiritual discipline in a Buddhist hermitage and Yosa of Seonun temple, learned Buddhist canons. It is said to have been built by the monk Geomdan in 577 with the remained timber after building Seonun temple. According to another rumor, it was erected during the Goryeo dynasty. The present building was repaired at the end of the nineteenth century. The girder and auxiliary beam were made by using well-trimmed wood to display linear beauty. The back of the building is open to the Daewooungjeon of Seonun temple to efficiently utilize the lecture hall for preaching the Buddhist canon. Its front has a cool ventilation and a fine view.
