It is time for the white lotus festival!!
This is held from July 3rd to August 15th in the Chungwoonsa compound located in Kimje city, Chungha-myun, Daechung-ri.
The exhibition and other cultural events are differentiated and the chief priest of this temple is also human cultural asset so this festival might be a chance to join in the classic atmosphere.
** the feature and the origin of the festival
A white lotus complex and tea field were made in a large scale around the region of Mt. Chungha in Kimje Chungha-myun and produce well-being agricultural products which is a theme of the festival. A white lotus in a pond has been a symbol of heavenly world in Buddhism so a lage white lotus complex is formed around the Chungwoonsa.
